TALTP, a peer-reviewed journal, seeks articles
aimed toward instructors of American literature
courses in 4-year and 2-year colleges. Our goal is
to collect practical articles on best classroom
practices, including the use of technology: the
Internet in particular. Theoretical articles featuring
the use of critical theories in teaching American
literature, or that introduce minor or lost American
authors are welcome, as are reviews of new titles
(reference or critical) that would interest
instructors. O
ur readers are college and university
instructors who have a love of American literature
and who want to do the best job possible in
transferring their interest and passion to their
students.
Editorial Policy and Submissions

The language of submitted articles should not be overly scholarly. There are plenty of
journals that offer highly-convoluted critical jargon-laden essays, and that is fine for their
particular audiences. The bottom line is that we want intelligent, critical articles written in
a clear, readable style that will engage our readers and offer them thoughtful, useful, and
innovative ideas for bringing the world of American literature to their classrooms.

We use 5-6 articles in each online issue of TALTP, appearing quarterly. Articles of 2,500 to
9,000 words will be accepted; however, brief book reviews, and brief articles for our "How
Do You Do It?" feature of fewer than 2,500 words are welcome.

Please submit abstracts or manuscripts electronically, as attachments, to
Patricia.Bostian@cpcc.edu.

Requested manuscripts in MLA format should be sent electronically to the address below.
Please type only one space after a period and use italics instead of underlining for titles.
We have a blind review process, but our in house editors will make all final decisions
regarding publication. We currently do not offer compensation for published articles.
